The Poolrooms is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a vast complex of interconnected rooms and corridors partially submerged in lukewarm water, being far too large to properly serve the function of a pool. As you traverse throughout the sub-space its layout varies greatly in both size and structure, ranging from uniform pools and hallways with occasional pillars to more open and abnormally-shaped areas while remaining strict in its senseless connections and lack of identifiable purposes, with some areas even lacking roofs to show off a vast blue sky above (Exiting onto the other roofs from such areas is not possible). All surfaces within this sub-space are constructed from pristine white ceramic tiles, with the exception of certain rare areas in which the tiles are discoloured to a more blue-green tone.
The water filling this sub-space is largely safe and sterile, with the only two unusual traits being noted, with the first being a high concentration of epsom salt which induces a relaxing effect if submerged in, and the second being an unexplained rippling with no discernible source. Sound is unusually 'muted' in this sub-space, with noise suddenly dropping off or not reverberating as it should.
Demographics
Thanks to its relaxing and relatively safe environment, The Poolrooms is home to a population of roughly 15-40 permanent inhabitants and transitory visitors at any given time as of 453. Despite its fairly sizable population, there are no Colonies or Outposts within this sub-space due to lack of incentive, the difficulty of encountering others due to its size, and the fact that its submerged terrain does not allow permanent settlements to easily exist.
