The Sewer is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a large sewer system filled with countless sharp corners, drops, sewagefalls[1], and occasional flooded areas. The Sub-Space is among one of the "first" truly dangerous levels that can be encountered, due to it having pplenty of environmental hazards and a full on infestation of entities. Other than that, the Subspace has some other peculiar properties such as very moist atmosphere with a unnaturally high concentration of CO2.

Landmarks

Several different "landmarks" have been documented across The Sewer for ease of navigation.

  • Starting Canyon: The location in the Sewer System an individual generally appears at upon entering the level. It is situated in a lower section in between 2 drops. This area also separates the subspace into "north" and "south"
  • Dry Platform: A dry section with no water in the "north side".
  • Water Tower: A flooded tower going upwards found in the "south side".
  • Blooded Halls: Swimming downwards in the water tower leads to a series of dry hallways covered in blood and skulls.
  • Parking Room: Behind a certain door a small parking lot can be found.
  • Disco: A obscure room resembling a nightclub or disco.
  • Upper Area: An area situated above a majority of the Subspace accessible through several spread out sewerfalls.

History

Demographics

The Sewer has no permanent population, and generally only has around 5-20 people within it at any given time. Additionally the level is completely infested with Entities, most of whom employ stalking tactics to silently follow their prey until eventually pouncing from around an obstacle or corner.

Exits

  • In most "landmarks" across The Sewer an exit to Blue Dreams may be found. The most well known of these routes is to from the "Starting Canyon" go north, take 2 right turns, and then 2 left turns.
  • There is a stream of water in the Starting Canyon that leads to a tunnel below a sewer gate in Infinitopolis, which can then be exited.
  • Swimming up the Water Tower leads to the Hollow Iceberg
