The Cold Islandia is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a large and distinct hill containing a village that is surrounded by a vast winter landscape full of boreal trees and shipwrecks. The sheer cold of this sub-space is often lethal if one is unprepared, with temperatures of -90 degrees centigrade being fairly common, which when combined with an unusually high rate of insanity makes surviving outside of a shielded environment deadly. If one wishes to set up camp here they must ensure their home is heavily insulated and protected from the elements, as while this sub-space is often deadly the myriad of resources such as lumber that can be found here are greatly valued elsewhere in the Backrooms.
Demographics
Despite its many hazards, the resources within Cold Islandia has managed to grant it a relatively large estimated population of roughly 55-65 permanent inhabitants and transitory visitors at any given time as of 444, of which a vast majority reside within the village of "Novograd" aligned with the Backrooms Reorganized Explorer's Organization that primarily thrives off of the lumber trade. While the BREO may control this settlement, they did not initially build it as they had discovered it mysteriously abandoned with no apparent reason to be uncovered.
