The French Square is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a urban market square surrounded by several apartment buildings, which notably are all labelled in French. The buildings themselves are fairly plain, with only a few of them being properly furnished rather than an unusual emptiness which is also shared by the square itself, which is devoid of any major structures. Despite this emptiness, each of the structures appear to be well decorated with flowers and other common ornaments along unused windows.

Demographics

Thanks to its peaceful and safe environment within an easy to navigate and organize enclosed space, the French Square is home to a population of 8-20 permanent inhabitants and transitory visitors at any given time as of 446, of which the inhabitants are organized rather anarchically beyond any major group or institution.
