Lonely Road is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a long, dark, and gloomy road. This road traverses through the entire subspace, beginning in a road tunnel in its south end, and continuing through the dark landscape, and eventually transitioning into The Maple Forest. The entire level is perpetually in a state of -5°C, keeping the ground in a state of permafrost. The road itself is in a state of relative disrepair, with several potholes and cracks. You may also rarely come across a broken down car[1] on the side of the road, although these are completely inoperable.
Demographics
The Lonely Road has a fairly large permanent population, although most of them exclusively reside within the BMA's City of Ash due to the dark and gloomy atmosphere of the level.
City of Ash
City of Ash is a fairly large settlement governed by the Backrooms Military Administration off the highway. The city has a population of several hundred with tens of houses that people live in. The City is one of the BMA's largest settlements due to its fairly open design, although the dark and gloomy atmosphere of the Lonely Road has discouraged some migration.
Tunnel Camp
The Tunnel Camp is a small outpost with a population of 12 that resides within the road tunnel. They are generally friendly, although don't accept new members.

Entrances
- You can find a small bunker room embedded in the cliffs of The Chasm that sends you here.
- Around the middle floors of The Facility you can find a vent which leads outside, where you can find a road. At the end of this road is a bus-stop with a tunnel behind it that sends you here.
Exits
- You can return back to The Chasm through the bunker room.
- By simply walking through the road the subspace will eventually transition into The Maple Forest.
- You can press a button in the starting bunker to be sent to Level Boredom.
- ↑ These are typically fairly old design-wise, and always either black or silver.
