The Misty Caves is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a long, misty cavern that extends for a vast distance until reaching the 'Vault Mechanism', which if crossed leads one to the SDSB Outpost of Quae Eum, which if properly navigated will lead one to the 'Containment Chamber', a vast artificial complex constructed by the SDSB and SDS Foundation to act as a place to hold the most difficult to contain entities they have under their purview. Venturing into this sub-space is often hazardous due to the mental influence of these entities, making navigation often highly distressing.

Demographics

In order to properly staff the present facilities, the Misty Caves has a population of roughly 10-14 permanent inhabitants and transitory visitors at any given time as of 453, of which most reside within the SDSB outpost of Quae Eum as containment workers. Navigating past this outpost is highly difficult, and thus not recommended.
