The Sea is a Liminal Enigmatic Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a seemingly infinite ocean, stretching for an unknown distance in all directions. The Sea is largely unexplored, with only a few islets and structures sticking above the unending surface, acting as the sole habitable areas. The deeper one ventures into the sea the less structures one will find, with these few islands acting as the primary points of habitation in the shallow areas. In the deepest areas no structures or floating objects will be found, with only the cold depths of the ocean remaining visible.

Demographics

Due to its proximity to populated sub-spaces such as Infinitopolis and its lack of major habitation zones, The Sea had a relatively small population for most of its history, with only 3-9 unaffiliated Transitory Visitors usually coming from Infinitopolis existing within it at any given time, though this changed drastically in 521 CE once the SDS Foundation's Backrooms & Mei'ra-Cooperation-Authority Branches began operating within the Sub-Space, with the 'Free State of Mei'ra-in-Exile' resettling its population within the sub-space in order to avoid detection, establishing a massive facility and settlement known as 'New Mei'ra' within the sub-space styled off of Mei'ra on Yata. Thanks to this, The Sea now hosts a population of 7450-7680 Permanent Inhabitants and Transitory Visitors at any given time.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • Going south in Infinitopolis will eventually lead to this sub-space's shoreline.
  • Going through a broken window on a building in the Puddle and climbing up to its top floor will allow you to noclip here.

Exits

  • Heading north will lead to a coast on Infinitopolis.
  • You can find a cave near one of the islands that leads to The Cave.
