The Realm of the Forgotten is a shadow of the third dimension within the fourth dimension, acting as an afterlife for several beings whom end up trapped there after death. The Realm of the Forgotten acts as the afterlife for those who have been forgotten, such as deities who are left without followers. Under incredibly rare circumstances, people on the brink of death have inadvertently ended up in the Realm of the Forgotten.

It is currently the most well documented afterlife, as it is the one of few from which beings have successfully been returned from. Topography wise, the Realm of the Forgotten takes the form of a vast dark labyrinth with various large and small rooms, with some of them containing "forgotten" structures. The realm has some-form of day-night cycle, despite the perpetual darkness, as during "night" various Demonic Entities emerge within the realm whom feed on Insomnia.

Escapes from the Realm of the Forgotten are poorly documented. Anecdotal evidence and observation has pointed towards a process that allows a person to leave the Realm, albeit without their soul. This process has been termed "soul-shattering", which has prolonged, debilitating effects on people who experience it. It is being investigated as a gateway into the fourth dimension, given the events following the destruction of the World Machine.
