Fearful that they would be next after the events of the Quatritonian-Kalevian War, Yetia began rapid militarization efforts in order to grow its defence forces and improve their discipline, soon also instigating cooperation between itself and nations such as Sarpistan, Choros, Waclaw, and the New Sizzlean Empire in order to establish the Athens Pact. All of the sudden, a massive bombing occurred in Palladia City's Sky Palladia perpretated by EPP and TPP extremists, greatly damaging to the building to the point of possibly collapsing within days without intervention, prompting Quatritnoa to scramble to keep up up with whatever supports they could after sealing it off with fences and cutting it off from the Metro Drainage Area due to the building only being held up by the Mass Dampener. Yetia's leadership convened to decide on what should be done about Quatritonia, eventually coming to the conclusion that internal destabilization is their best bet after placing their army on the border just in case. Yetia considered inviting Morduria to the Athens Pact, but due to Quatritonian pressure this did not go through.
Yetia began to experiment with alternate methods of power generation as Quatritonia began to upgrade the Laser Tower Array by refining the new Immolator Beam, though the most important of Yetia's next actions was a conference regarding its strategy. President Ella's plan was to have a fighting retreat away from the flat Vedaburg and Ezon regions westwards while a TPPY uprising would keep the Quatritonians occupied while Yetia would entrench itself in the Alps and the surrounding small corridors to the Adriatic Sea and Polish border. Quatritonia soon militarized the border, prompting Yetia to intensify its efforts as invasion appeared to be imminent, breaking its treaty-bound army restrictions out of desperation. Unbeknownst to Yetia, Quatritonia had already made its move by launching a surprise invasion and occupation of Morduria, which they were seemingly going to use as a springboard to invade Sarpistan... until suddenly the Quatritonian army punched into Yetia's borders.
Quatritonian Invasion of Yetia
Quatritonian artillery divisions blasted through the Yetian front in Crimea and Turkey, from which they soon turned to attack the Sarpistanis as well in a massive attack until their armies could respond to calm the front by cutting them off by firing rockets at the mountains to cause landslides, accidentally bringing casualties to themselves which gave Sarpistan an opening to fight back with support given to it by Hongerswak, while the rest of the Athens Pact was supported by Sipedro. Noticing how underdefended Vedaburg was, Quatritonia launched an offensive into the Czechohungaria province, while simultaneously setting up defences at Sipedroan New Sizzle just in case Quatritonian forces soon reached Yetia's fortifications in the mountains and narrow passages, deciding that pushing deeper wouldn't be worth it.
