Yetia's transition back into republicanism after the 22nd Yetian Civil War grew to be quite unpopular, leading to protests in the country. Over time, these protests consolidated under the leadership of a single figure by the name of Rowan Robertson, who claimed to be the legal successor of Henry Robertson and brother of the recently deceased Patrky Robertson. Rowan demanded to be crowned the new king of Yetia, but this was refused, prompting him and his supporters to march on Newtown. The Yetian military was promptly sent to prevent this from happening, which escalated the situation to greater levels of violence than it previously did. Rowan began making deals beyond Yetia as well, as he attempted to convince the new king William III Robertson of Sizzle to support his cause due to them being related, offering the restoration of the Sizzlean-Yetian Empire. The Rowanist march quickly escalated into a full-blown civil war as the Rowanists seized control over Newtown, prompting a sympathetic guerilla group calling itself the Great Alps Organization to emerge in central Yetia around the same time that Choros overthrew Roman control over its country, leading to it invading southeastern Yetia in an attempt to rebuild its glory. The Republican cause began to become increasingly decentralized as local generals seized control of the regions they were responsible for, leading to Newtown finally falling to the Rowanists which lead to the Yetian republicans desperately attempting to push back into the city.
Yetia began to fracture more and more as the Czecho-Austria Clique was joined by the Yaverncost Clique, Munich Clique, North Waclaw Clique, Niederbach Clique, Venice Clique, Danubian Republic, Alinya Clique, Balkan Clique, and Lombard Clique. As the Rowanists launched a brand new offensive, the tenuous hold the Republican government held over the cliques cracked as all of them started fighting amongst one another with the first to 'break free' being the Yaverncost Clique, which promptly conquered the Munich Clique and significant portions of the Czecho-Austria Clique. With the Rowanists now expanding rapidly, they officially reorganized themselves into the 'Greater Yetia Movement', leading to the Great Alps Organization to defect to the Yaverncost Government. The GYM's mass offensive quickly threatened to destroy the entirety of the Fifth Commonwealth, whose government was forced to make a difficult and dangerous escape to Westov's territory through warlord-held lands in order to fight another day as Yetia City fell to the GYM, leaving the Balaeric Islands as the only region under Commonwealth control. The GYM next put its attention on the Milan Government run by the Lombard Clique, invading and incorporating its territory as well as the Balaerics. Choros launched a renewed offensive against the Balkan Clique and Alinya Clique, swiftly seizing control of much of the region as the Balkan Clique declared subservience to the GYM out of fear of destruction. The incorporation of the Balkan Clique allowed the Rowanists to launch an invasion of the Czecho-Austria Clique, seizing half of its territory. The GYM demanded greater concessions from the Balkan Clique, leading to it breaking away from GYM oversight as a conflict between the two started.
