Disapproving of the occupation of their nation, resistance began to grow among the Yetian populace as councils promoting their independence emerged, which were begrudgingly tolerated due to their participation in reconstruction efforts. Groups of remaining soldiers of the Sizzlean-Yetian Empire were soon uncovered in the Yetian Alps, arming themselves and the anti-occupation councils to resist foreign rule.
Insurgency War
In January 80 the Anti Sizzle-Yetia Coalition took action against these SYE Remnants, with the Alpine region erupting into conflict as Coalition forces attacked the remnants, which were quickly put at a disadvantage due to being outnumbered and lacking international support. While most remained to fight in the seemingly desperate situation, many within the Remnants fled and moved to Sizzle to assist in the Sizzlean Reunification War, leading to the remaining forces reorganizing themselves into a stratocracy.
General Uprising
After a period of biding their time, the Yetian resistance movements took their opportunity to rise as the Sizzle-Yetia Remnant and a new group calling itself the Yetian Free Council launched a massive uprising against the occupation forces in late summer 80 CE, hoping to restore their independence as they rose up throughout much of the country. The Coalition was quick to take notice to act, with Yorica and Sipedro coordinating a largescale response to crack down on the uprising. Most coalition states dedicated themselves to the conflict, though some like Ireland and Scotland largely withdrew due to economic concerns. As Kalevala's army retreated from Yetia, the S.Y Remnant offered a merger to the YFC, which the YFC refused, prompting the SYR to launch a surprise attack that usurped control over the YFC after a series of battles that over time turned to the SYR's favour. Sarpistan and Waclaw decided the situation was impossible to prevent, so they withdrew from the war as a whole, contrasting greatly with Sipedro whom decided to double down on its operation by sending additional soldiers to hold off the SYR.
The SYR demanded that Sipedro should just sign peace as many of its allies had begun doing, which Sipedro refused due to not wishing to destroy the work of their previous president, prompting them to begin shipping more and more soldiers into Yetia, which the SYR took notice of and began pulling its forces away from cleaning up the areas where Choros had signed a ceace fire with them. The SYR began planning on a method to beat the Sipedroan army, building up trenches and bunkers to prepare for their arrival. Choros, Kalevala, and SR Lineland would all leave the war at this point as the total military forces of the SYR prepared to fight Sipedro as they marched into Yetia City and landed in Newtown via the sea, successfully putting Sipedro on the retreat as they desperately tried to send more and more soldiers to fight the Yetians despite how hopeless the situation became, eventually forcing them to capitulate regardless as they agreed to withdraw all forces from Yetia and pay reparations for war-time damages.
Aftermath
Following the war the Sizzle-Yetia Remnants reorganized themselves into the Second Sizzlean-Yetian Empire, adopting both the flag of the SYE and a modified version of Yetia's first ever flag as co-official. The Second Empire would then officially establish a proper government, becoming a military dictatorship under the rule of Aldren Schulz of the YNF Party, quickly gearing up for war as it planned a series of conquests, making many countries such as Sarpistan fearful of wars to come.
