A series of protests began in San Diego over increasing authoritarianism by the hands of Nuevopedro's oligarchs, leading to said protests being crushed with military force, soon escalating into a series of anti-authoritarian uprisings in San Diego and San Francisco which liberated the cities from government rule. Once these two uprisings connected, they officially formed the 'Provisional Californian Republic' standing against Nuevopedroan rule, leading to the Navajo Nation and Second Republic of Deseret revolting as well. Once Nuevopedro was largely defeated by the revolts, the Navajo Nation willingly integrated into the PCR while the theocratic Deseret remained defiant, necessitating a invasion of Salt Lake City after the Nuevopedroan government fled to Tiujuana. A year after the war ended, the Provisional Californian Republic was reorganized into the 'United Pacific States', with Louis Davey of the Pacific Progressive Party winning the first election in 241 CE.
