After extensive preparations, Yetia suddenly demanded that the 3 members of the Adriatic Alliance become its puppets or face invasion, which the three refused, prompting Yetia to invade. The Adriatics rushed to prepare their defences as the Yetians rushed across their borders. Yetia soon declared war on Malta as well over their naval power being seen as a 'threat'. Vedaburg and Malta attempted to fight back, which saw some success as the Adriatics grew hopeful that they could win until they realised that Vedaburg was about to be split in half and Yetia's Atlantic fleet had entered the Mediterranean. Vedaburg's front slowly began to collapse, eventually reaching the black sea around the same time that Malta's navy was destroyed. Vedaburg simply couldn't hold on any longer and surrendered, giving up most of its territory to Yetia in return for allowing to continue existing as a puppet. Seeing no way to win, Choros, Italy, and Malta surrendered as well, leading to all of them being converted into puppets known as 'National States' and losing significant territories. The National State of Italy looked into Yetia's plans after being integrated into its sphere, uncovering that its final goal was an invasion of the Tritoniyan Empire, so they began preparing for a way to escape Yetia's hold.
