The Biomass was a mutated Titanian Iujado which was genetically modified by the YNF in order to serve as a bioweapon, although they deemed it too hazardous to be usable so they decided to freeze it in a stasis pod hidden in the unexplored regions of Antarctica in order to rid themselves of it. Its location was eventually uncovered by Asophanian explorers, whom accidentally released it.

Biology

During a period of analysis in February 98 it was discovered that The Biomasswas not exactly one single being, and more so functions as a macrocolony of micro-organisms unified under one 'hivemind', allowing it to be subdivided and survive as smaller or multiple iterations of the same being. The micro-organisms themselves are divided into multiple types; "Biobytes" function as general microbes that exist solely to consume as much organic possible matter as possible, "Brainbytes" function as a network of intelligence within it capable of adapting and learning, and "Connectionbytes" link all other types together.

History

In 96 CE, the government of Yetia requested too become allies with Asophania as they intended to investigate an abandoned YNF bioweapon near Asophanian territory they had found documentation of. Asophania soon arrived at the weapons site located in a mountain range of Antarctica, discovering a massive stasis pod containing a pink and red -coloured mass inside. Concerned that it may be hazardous, the researchers decided against opening it, only for a chunk of ice to collapse and hit the 'release' button, blasting open the pod as much of its contents were launched elsewhere while the remnants quickly became animate, prompting Yetia to fire the Yetia Lazer Tower on the mass in order to destroy it. While this was largely successful, both countries quickly panicked as they realised how much of it had been launched away, prompting them to research the few remaining pieces they had left. The Biomass Samples were promptly moved to the recently expanded Asolab, giving it the name 'Biomass' as experimentation regarding how it survived certain conditions, revealing that it is capable of traversing water, is destroyed by fire, and consumes biological compounds. Reports soon came in regarding the pieces of The Biomass that had been ejected, with broadcasts suggesting that they had coalesced on the island of Socotra near Aparty, where it had begun attacking fishing boats. An initial barrage of Aqua Regia and Fluorocitric Acid proved ineffective, prompting Yetia to bombard it with napalm until most of it was turned to ash, though a piece did manage to escape into the sea, which was later sighted floating on the ocean surface.

Iujado Invasion of Asophania

After a while of not much happening, one of the contained samples of the Biomass in the Asolab managed to escape, though it was later found deceased as a number of humanoid beings had emerged from its remains, calling themselves "Iujado" (though they later were classified as Bio-Iujado). These being exhibited considerable intelligence, the capability to speak and think logically, successfully managing to evade capture and relocate to the other side of Antarctica in order to found the nation of Iujadogia. The Iujado quickly got to work constructing themselves a home, using their mutated biology to rapidly replicate and chop up their offspring to use as building materials, which slowly began to leech into the ground and transform it into a sandy pink material spreading outwards. This 'tainted' region spread rapidly, greatly concerning Yetia and Asophania, especially once Iujadogia had managed to capture The Biomass from its drifting throughout the surface of the Indian Ocean. The Biomass proved to be much less intelligent than its offspring, but held the advantage of rapid evolution if necessary and was still quite capable of organizing the Iujado to achieve a task. Filled with a trance-like devotion to what they called 'Mother', the Iujado formed a massive army equipped with weaponry made of themselves and marched southwards towards Asophania while the Biomass consumed all biological matter it came across. The Iujado army soon arrived at New South City alongside their Mother, which bashed a hole into the facility as the Iujado chanting of assimilation flooded in. Despite Yetia sending aid, Asophania was incapable of holding against the unrelenting onslaught of Iujado, especially once the Biomass slipped inside the Asolab to wreak havoc. Facing extinction, as much of Asophania's population as possible fled abroad thru Argentina, eventually settling in southern Tritonia and the House of Yetevia's lands in Isfahan, where it settled its government. The fall of Asophania freaked out Tritonia as something awakened within its government, ordering paramilitaries to seize the Yetian Lazer Tower and fire its primary weapon onto antarctica, briefly melting it before it refroze and causing earthquakes and tsunamis intense enough to cause a megatsunami in the Weddell Sea and wipe out all Iujado outside of the Asolab. The lazer tower was reconfigured to target Iujado/Biomass DNA as it was discovered that both had survived within the Asolab's cavern, where it had consumed all organic matter and consumed significant quantities of water before settling down.

Quite predictably, the Biomass had learned of the lazer and became terrified of it as it became more and more intelligent and developed proper sight (instead of merely electroperception) and speaking after absorbing knowledge from its victims. Its increased growth generated excessive heat within The Biomass, causing it to expel significant amounts of steam from its consumption of water which revealed its underground location as it seeped through the ice into open air. Fearing that a new lazer barrage would wipe its children out, the Biomass conversed by vibrating its teeth in order to instruct the Iujado to enter inside a open space inside it while it escaped out to see to swim over to a new landmass. The nations observing it quickly noticed once the Biomass rushed to the coast and took sail, eventually landing on the eastern coast of South America where it briefly rested. Yetia warned the nations of the Americas of its presence soon enough, being concerned that it could grow exponentially if it managed to consume much of the rainforests in the region. It slowly made its way up through central america, consuming forests as it entered the borders of Sipedro. Sipedro decided to finally do something about this after it had consumed a group of campers, dropping tall trees onto it with little success as they were simply sucked into the Biomass, then deciding to spray it with a high-pressure jet of water, which also failed. Yetia taught Sipedro that they had discovered that the Biomass was susceptible to fire, prompting Sipedro to deploy a Parahuman with pyrokinesis to breathe fire on the Biomass, causing it to freak out and rampage Fietrar as over half of its body was burnt to ashes by the fire until it escaped into sea.

As Iujadogia established its foothold on Africa, it tenaciously worked on nursing the Biomass back to health after its injuries and surfacing on Ellesmere Island. Many Iujado sacrificed themselves by being absorbed by the Biomass in order to grant it additional intelligence which it used to ravage the island of Greenland. Both the Iujado's and the Biomass' consumption of water began to noticeably impact the global water-level by this point, especially as the Iujado began to specifically work on feeding the Biomass. After Greenland was largely depleted of resources, the Biomass and its enteurage moved onto the areas surrounding Catania, causing significant damage to the ecosystem from its consumption of organic matter. The Iujado decided to further advance the Biomass' intelligence by artificially replicating its Brainbytes, while attempting to maintain a balance between the Brain, Bio, and Connection bytes in order to maintain its form, allowing it to begin producing basic sentences. Fearing another the attack, the Biomass temporarily consumed the Iujado it was travelling with and went back to Antarctica in search of safety. Curious of the changes that occured to the Biomasss if it was to consume different species (considering Humans and Iujado both increased its intelligence), the Iujado decided to try feeding different species to the Biomass, starting with a Dragon. The Dragon briefly managed to set the Biomass on fire before being incapacitated by the Iujado, allowing it to increase its fire resistance in order to counter the nations of the world preparing to learn how to kill it before the Centennial. Despite Antarctica being barren of food sources, the Biomass insisted on remaining there in order to avoid threats.

As a part of the upcoming First Centennial, Aparty decided to go around the world and collect artefacts from each country to build a collage, travelling via sea across the coast of africa to Abard and then towards Argentina. By accident, they stumbled across a strange series of metallic pods and towers in the middle of the sea. They found a mysterious collective of people inhabiting this structure which questioned their presence, the reason why they were 'awake', and were unaware of Abard and Argentina. Aparty questioned if they were extraterrestrials, which the people denied. Aparty noticed they were freakishly pale and somewhat different from other humans, prompting Aparty to question why they would decide to live in such an isolated place. The people claimed that neither of them would be able to remember the exact reasons or each otheers origins, which seemed to make Aparty notice that the people lived here in order to get away from something, prompting the people to reveal why the world was the way it was, uncolonised, riddled with old technologies to adapt, and only having 98 years of recorded history. The people revealed that the reason for their presence here and the reason why the aforementioned mysteries lingered around the world was The Great Sleep, a centuries-long plague which kept all of Humanity except for these people in a comatose state. Aparty decided to try too convince them to return to the mainland as a new threat had emerged on Yata, the Biomnass. Aparty explained how the Biomass was discovered, how the Iujado had emerged from it, and how they had been ravaging and consuming the world for years. The people, which revealed themselves to belong to "Mei'ra", eventually agreed to Aparty's reasoning and decided to assist in fighting against The Biomass, bringing the Apartians inside to avoid a oncoming storm, additionally revealing their much more advanced technologies. Under guidance from Aparty, Mei'ra contacted Asophania regarding the Biomass situation, requesting samples to begin work on a 'cure' for the Biomass, which Asophania delivered via Port Lunemari. Mei'ra appeared to recognize the genome of the Biomass, and quickly got to work.

After a period of research and development, Mei'ra claimed it had developed a material capable of countering The Biomass; "Cryotine", specifically designed to bind onto Biobytes and Brainbytes in order to disable them while it absorbs Connectionbytes in order to prevent The Biomass' body from communicating with itself, effectively paralyzing and killing it. Aparty and Asophania were eager to buy (with raw materials being the 'currency') the weaponised variant of Cryotine, especially after being told that that it can be used as a 'lazer amplifier' onto the Lazer Tower Array. After installing the amplifier on the Masqat Laser Tower, Asophania and Yetia convinced Aparty to use the weapon on the Iujado. After locating the Biomass' position and the location of the other Iujado, the Laser Towers prepared to launch a blast sufficient enough to wipe out all threats inhabiting Antarctica, smothering the continent as they launched. Iujadogia and The Biomass writhed as their bodies rotted and decayed as the Laser Towers of Tritonia and Yetia were also equipped with the Cryotine amplifiers, all firing at once as the skies of Yata turned a bright purple. The pink that had been tainting the ground of Antarctica began to retreat as The Biomass died, with its remains sinking into the ground and its offspring dead. Asophanian hunting parties quickly went throughout the continent looking for any survivors and eliminating them with Cryotine bullets. After all was said and done, the Cryotine amplifiers were buried due to their radioactivity, and Mei'ra was paid handsomely for its help in ending the crisis. A year after the crisis ended (99 CE), the Asophanians which wished to relocate back home from Isfahan established Denasola across Antarctica.
