After having gained favourable support in opinion polls, the Yetian Union Party managed to win 52.5% of the vote in Moesia's general elections, though due to their aspirations to join Yetia the Moesian government declared the results to be invalid as they claimed that the incumbent Moesian National Party had won 68% of the vote instead (Which was a common occurrence in the corrupt "democracy" of the nation). Angered by the blatant lies, the YUP launched nation-wide riots and rallied various minor parties to join the cause to oust the MNP from power, leading to many provinces rising up in rebellion in order to implement the YUP's ideals while the Moesian government fled to the Danube and Ezon City to muster their forces to restore order.
The YUP's forces rose up throughout the western portion of Moesia and swiftly swayed the loyalty of numerous regions, while local ethnolinguistically Chorosian regions launched their own insurrections (which the government of Choros soon began to directly aid) alongside the Tritonians (whom proclaimed the 'Ruthenian Republic of Dobruja'. The YUP, facing several losses, requested Yetian aid which prompted Yetia to issue an ultimatum for Moesia demanding an internationally moderated recount of the vote or else it would assume the YUP's claims were true, which Moesia refused, thus Yetia simply stated 'So be it' before launching an invasion of Moesia. Hoping to avoid conflict between one another, Choros and Yetia signed a memorandum beginning official cooperation between one another in return for the territories of the Chorosian insurgents being handed over to them (incorporating Thessaloniki, Southern Macedonia Province, and North Epirus Province). Despite receiving some international support from Nova Polska, Moesia was soon forced to surrender and open up to peace negotiations which led to a dispute between the YUP and MNP regarding if Moesia should remain independent or join Yetia, which Choros managed to mediate into a partition which handed over all Pro-YUP regions aside from Ezon City to Yetia (incorporating Serbia Province, Albania-Kosovo Province, parts of Macedonia Province, and Thrace Province). Shortly after its defeat, the Moesian government underwent a revolution where the far-right 'Moesian Rejuvenation Party' seized power in the country.
