As the increasingly impoverished Yatan refugees began turning to banditry to survive, Theia was increasingly destabilized. The first major hotspot of this instability was the Yetian National Front, where a significant portion of Yetian refugees ended up to begin espousing their radical beliefs, leading to the formation of the dissident 'New Yetian Council' which was promptly suppressed due to its 'Pro-Legionnaire' viewpoints. These crackdowns only encouraged the NYC however, prompting them to soon launch a largescale uprising along the populous coast of the country that the government was quite powerless to stop due to not having an active military, forcing them to scramble together a small volunteer militia force to fight back. The YNF failed to fight back against the NYC in most fronts as the chaos in the country lead to Bandits essentially seizing the entire northern border region. The deadliest battle of the war would soon take place as the NYC stormed the YNF Capital of Camp-Avania, where a bloody defence for the underground city eventually ended in a NYC victory which forced essentially all remaining YNF forces to flee to Zento Island. The NYC thus launched an attack into Zento after preparing a fleet, though this would soon fail as they were pushed out. The YNF was incapable of reclaiming the mainland, while the NYC was unable to capture Zento, leading to an armistice where the YNF was allowed to persist in Zento while the mainland became the Legionary State of New Yetia.
