After the events of World War 17, Nilastan was restored as an independent state at last. During its period of being conquered, its western region had broken off as the independent Republic of Synora, which had a revolution to become the Islamic Republic of Synora as to avoid re-integration, leading to conflict breaking out as Nilastan moved to reclaim its territory, though this provoked a massive response in its own country as people didn't want another international war, causing the Islamic Republic of Bengal, Free Republic of Yangoon, Yangoon Military Governorate, Wan Republic, Second Republic of Nilastan, Princely Federation, Sri Lanka Free Navy, and Luxurian Raj to rise up in rebellion. The Nilastani government rather quickly fell apart as it was overwhelmed, allowing the Luxurian Raj to gain the advantage as it captured the capital of Nayasha, soon leading to the People's Republic's collapse as the Luxurians and Pirates formed an uneasy alliance. The rapid expansion of the Luxurian Raj greatly concerned the Anti-Luxuria Coalition especially as their ally of Synora was being threatened after the fall of Pirtil, leading to Yakamoto beginning to support the Islamists. Poavak and Nakmai considered intervention, but they were too damaged by the war to do anything. The situation with the Luxurian Raj became big news in Luxuria proper, pushing many in favour of executing Terry Teur, especially once they managed to claim victory against all other Nilastani factions.
