President Johan Kraag of Lizarb passed away, prompting the Central Committee of Socialists to begin the process of deciding a new president. Taking advantage of the power vacuum, exiled Lizarbian right-wingers came into contact with various right-wing and anti-communist groups in the Cayenne area as well as hiring Lustlandian and Brazilian mercenaries. In the 5th of November 253 these various anti-communists coalesced into the 'Coalizão Nacional' and staged a coup by seizing buildings and enacting infrastructure sabotage in Cayenne as their paramilitants invaded the city's beaches, prompting Lizarb to mobilize a response alongside its ally Dzaphania. In an initial breakthrough, the Coalizao Nacional managed to capture Cayenne itself and much of the surrounding area up to the outskirts of Kourou, though increasingly large government reinforcements managed to push them back to a perimeter between the Cayenne River and Mahury River aside from a small pocket of Lustlandian mercenaries near Kourou.
Lizarb and Dzaphania launched 'Operation Python' by slamming 3 divisions and a garrison thru a lightly defended agricultural area west of Cayenne Airport while forces from Macouria crossed the Cayenne River int he west. The Coalizao Nacional scrambled to contain the breakthrough which allowed more Lizarbian garrisons to attack them from behind in Remire as a part of 'Operation Cyclone' designed to prevent the CN from establishing a new defensive line in Cayenne and Remire as their positions in Matoury were increasingly vulnerable. Government forces began landing in Cayenne from the west as well while the Operation Python forces moved towards Remire to cut off enemy evacuations from Matoury, leading to many Brazilian and Lustlandian mercenaries surrendering to save themselves from the imminent disaster. The entire Cayenne region was mopped up by Lizarb and Dzaphania soon afterwards, soon being followed by the Lustlandian forces in Kourou, with the final Coalizao Nacional garrisons in the region surrendering soon afterward which allowed the People's Union of Lizarb to proclaim victory in the conflict.
