The European War of 282 started as a series of border clashes between Yetia and Francia while to the southeast Rome entered a civil war as the nationalist North Italian Restoration Movement and pro-Yetian Italian Reclamation Movement rose up in rebellion, prompting Francia and Ostmark to invade in order to restore order. Francia signed a treaty with the NIRM, supporting their efforts in return for them joining their war against Yetia, leading to Rome declaring war on Francia, which caused Hispania to side with Francia as a full-scale war had begun between Yetia and Francia. Ostmark rallied its nationalist allies in Nederland and Lusitania to its side, leading to Helvetia and Germania siding with Rome to defend their independence, which made Bohemia side with Francia to maintain European democracy. Najova then sided with Yetia in order to spread communism, which made Moesia side with Rome, which made Choros side with the nationalists to reclaim Macedonia.
Due to the war never being finished and all subsequent mentions of any participating states completely disregarding that it ever happened, the war was retconned.
