The government of the Theian Republic received news that a terrorist cell known as the 'Theian Republic Vital Front' had infiltrated its capital of Theia City with the goal of assassinating Chancellor Leo Valentinus, leading to largescale chaos and clashes in the streets as the TR Military was called in to disperse the terrorists. The Vital Front lured the military to attack its main base to fully destroy them while its undercover agents managed to successfully carry out the assassination, leading to the rest of the Vital Front being wiped out before snap-elections were held. In a major upset to the TR's two-party system, Serpen Tsungii's populist 'Faithful Party' won with 41% of the vote with a promise of cracking down on dissidents and continuing cooperation with the CSIS, leading to largescale militarization efforts in order to deal with dissidents alongside 'assisting' the CSIS against the Order of Ganymede.
