East Sizzle Crisis
For months now the recently established Socialist Republic of East Sizzle had faced major developmental issues when compared to their western neighbours, with their much harsher method of achieving communism greatly slowing down their reconstruction and social services. The cause behind this was soon exposed as SR Lineland's usage of work camps, greatly angering the Kingdom of Sizzle in Xining and the people living in East Sizzle . Lineland justified this by saying they only put terrorists and other such threats into these facilities, which the East Sizzlean government agreed with. The situation in East Sizzle continued to grow worse as rumours of Alex III surviving and remaining SYE soldiers helping insurgents began to spread, which Lineland cracked down upon. Tensions between Lineland and 'West' Sizzle continued to increase due to this situation, with Lineland's usage of collective punishment being widely unpopular as cases of those crossing the border being shot or captured, leading to unsuccessful "negotiations" that led to Lineland cancelling all promises to hold reunification referendums due to being angered by Sizzle asking for such, only making the internal situation within East Sizzle more tenuous as protests and resource shortages continued. This situation also inspired Abard to turn against the ideals of Socialism as Lineland's cruelty made them want to return to neutrality until Lineland threatened action, successfully 'pacifying' them.
Deciding that the liberation of East Sizzle was his first priority, King John of Sizzle conspired with the ongoing 'Sizzle-Yetia Remnants' uprising in Yetia to gain himself a proper army, smuggling many of their combatants to Sizzle in return for them recognizing John as their emperor. Now being militarised, the Kingdom of Sizzle sent an ultimatum demanding the return of East Sizzle, which was promptly denied. After having convinced the Utsongan Khanate to support him after connecting their borders, John directed Sizzle to act.
War for Reunification
Deciding that the usage of strategy was the best way to achieve victory, Sizzle and Utsong decided to use tunnels and quick moves to surprise Lineland, popping up behind their defences and blasting a hole in the border walls, successfully wiping out the Linelandic border garrisons and pushing inwards. The situation in East Sizzle was visibly dire as starving people were throughout the streets due to their famine, with Lineland quickly moving to fight back despite the East Sizzlean army facing massive mutinies, eventually managing to encircle a large Monarchist force.
