Seeking to strengthen its position in the face of a seemingly inevitable conflict with the NLE, Nilastan launched a surprise military operation against the Ceylonese Pirates in order to force them out of its territory. Nilastian garrisons swiftly came under attack as the island of Sri Lanka descended into chaos as Pirtil was blockaded by the Pirates, prompting massive naval battles.
