Yetia's transition back into republicanism after the 22nd Yetian Civil War grew to be quite unpopular, leading to protests in the country. Over time, these protests consolidated under the leadership of a single figure by the name of Rowan Robertson, who claimed to be the legal successor of Henry Robertson and brother of the recently deceased Patrky Robertson. Rowan demanded to be crowned the new king of Yetia, but this was refused, prompting him and his supporters to march on Newtown. The Yetian military was promptly sent to prevent this from happening, which escalated the situation to greater levels of violence than it previously did. Rowan began making deals beyond Yetia as well, as he attempted to convince the new king William III Robertson of Sizzle to support his cause due to them being related, offering the restoration of the Sizzlean-Yetian Empire. The Rowanist march quickly escalated into a full-blown civil war as the Rowanists seized control over Newtown, prompting a sympathetic guerilla group calling itself the Great Alps Organization to emerge in central Yetia around the same time that Choros overthrew Roman control over its country, leading to it invading southeastern Yetia in an attempt to rebuild its glory.
