As Europa began preparing independence referendums for its reconstructed minority regions, it suddenly remembered that the State of Oceania still existed as a present threat, deciding to attack before they fortified further. Europa's navy moved out to try to secure a landing site, successfully invading the south coast of England before being pushed out in a Oceanian counter offensive. After facing significant casualties, Europa decided to invade Ireland instead, which was much more successful as they managed to secure a landing which held. Oceania promptly began burning down everything in Ireland as the island was captured, which Oceania used as a distraction to invade mainland Europa thru Vandam, though Europa eventually defeated this invasion. Oceania launched a surprise counter-invasion of Ireland to reclaim it, which Europa eventually defeated. Deciding that overwhelming Oceania was the best way to win, Europa launched multiple simultaneous naval invasions all across their coastlines, leading to Oceania being overwhelmed and pushed back to their capital in Intramuro. After a months-long siege in which Europa gradually breached each wall of the city before finally capturing the Oceanian government, Europa managed to attain victory.
