A year prior, Palladia had broken away from the Tritonian Confederacy to form its own Rumynskye Confederacy. Tritonia questioned why this had happened, to which Palladia claimed that while it remained confederate it had ideals opposed the 'exodus policy' and the 'bystander decree'. Tritonia tried to convince them to remain by saying that they could return, which Palladia ignored despite warnings of 'the west catching them'. With Tritonia distracted, Lineland suddenly showed up with an ultimatum for control over East Tritonia or else it would invade, prompting Tritonia to call these demands pointless as 'Lineland was Lineland and thus didn't need Tritonians', making Lineland note how 35% of its country was already of Tritonian descend and Tritonia itself had a significant population of people of Linelandic descent. Tritonia kept trying to convince Lineland to back down from causing more war over East Tritonia, which failed as Lineland kept pressing on and accusing Tritonia of causing plenty of issues against them as well, which Tritonia deflected by calling Lineland corrupt which only angered them more as Lineland explained it was willing to accept their independence but their annexation into Tritonia was unforgivable. Tritonia admitted that it would leave East Tritonia's future up to them and held a referendum regarding if the people there wanted to remain in Tritonia, become independent, or join Lineland, with 57% voting in favour of independence much to Tritonia's dismay, though it regardless decided to respect their wishes as the 'Transitional State of Almytara' gained independence. Now with no one to stop them, Lineland massed its military on the borders despite internal disapproval and demanded Almytara's surrender or else it would invade, leading to Almytara reluctantly surrendering, which thus lead to them being granted autonomy.

Apothelis protested Tritonia's actions and cut off diplomatic ties for abandoning East Tritonia, with similar sentiments being felt on the interior as certain republics such as Calatai-Oeste and Novo-Turkiye feeling angered. Yetia took advantage of this situation and offered an alliance with Tritonia, which Tritonia refuted as something completely against their standards which made Yetia explain that they didn't have a choice as they had humilited themselves by losing their east and even their 'homeland' of Palladia. Tritonia remained defiant, but Yetia explained that Tritonia's own allies had abandoned them the second they proved to be useless to manipulate, prompting Tritonia to join the Nuelo Pact after some convincing.
