The Neo-Cevikist government which had come into power in Sarpistan following the Apothilene Reunification War began enacting various reforms focused on social issues and reclaiming the Levant, leading to discontent significant enough for an organization by the name of the 'Arab Ba'ath Brotherhood' to take advantage of the controversy to launch a revolt in the Sarpistani capital of Baghdad, swiftly seizing the city. While the ABB saw significant initial success advancing all the way to the Black Sea, upon reorganizing the Neo-Cevikists managed to push them back to Baghdad before a variety of separatist revolts took hold throughout the nation, which Choros exploited to occupy the Aegean islands.
After many years of conflict, a pro-Hayah group calling itself the "Islamic Insurgent Army" crossed into Sarpistan from across the Hayahan border, rapidly overwhelming the government forces to the benefit of all other factions which threw the nation into sufficient chaos for Turkic liberals to launch major revolts in the west in order to secure independence. A schism occurred in the 'Neo-Cevikist National Command' as many opted to establish a 'Second Council of National Preservation' to avoid the fall of Sarpistan, while most aimed to continue following Cevikist principles, leading to the government forces fracturing into two sides as both attempted to impose their vision onto one another. The Islamists continued to see massive successes, proclaiming the 'Islamic Emirate of Sarpistan' as they seemed to be on the path towards reunifying Sarpistan, concerning the recently formed Rome Cooperation Council enough to begin supplying the ABB while they considered possible intervention, prompting Hayah to launch a direct intervention as it cut all ties with Apothelis. Seeing no other way to prevent the spread of Hayah's theocratic ideology, the Rome Cooperation Council alongside Khat and Turkestan launched an invasion of Sarpistan to restore order, quickly leading to the surrender of the Alinyan Reform Faction, Anti-Sarpistani Union of Separatists, and Second Council of National Preservation. Apothilene forces quickly landed on Hayah's gulf coast to threaten Doha, prompting Hayah to threaten the use of nuclear weapons if the RCC didn't halt its advance, forcing the RCC to the negotiation table where it conceded control over the eastern half of Sarpistan to Hayah.
Treaty of Baghdad

- Choros annexed the Izmir region.
