After Kalevala's recent issues with separatism and even a civil war, the Tritonian Republic suddenly demanded Kalevala hand over several southern territories, which it refused. As Kalevala had fallen under Yetian protection, Tritonia organized a coalition consisting of itself, the English government in Exile, Ireland, Luvakhia, North Sarpistan, South Sarpistan (Both Sarpistan's hated Yetia more than each other), and Vedaburg. Ireland also attempted to convince Scotland and Sizzle to join the coalition, but this failed. Kalevala focused its efforts on its border with Tritonia rather than Luvakhia, prompting Tritonia to hold defensive positions against Yetia as it pushed into Kalevala. Ireland and England in Exile prepared a naval invasion of Yetian-controlled England. Yetia pushed into Vedaburg while Kalevala attempted a limited counteroffensive. Vedaburg was soon forced to flee north of the Danube while Kalevala did the same at the Daugava. Yetia occupied the city of Bralien. Kalevala put in as many resources as it could into a massive breakthrough into Tritonia towards Mosco in an attempt to force them to capitulate, which allowed Tritonia to advance on other fronts to the point of making a mad dash towards Helsinki, forcing Kalevala to pull back to retake defensive positions. Tritonia secured its flanks and began the advance on Helsinki where a scrambled together army waited them, incapable of stopping Luvakhia's advances in the east. After defeating Kalevala's airforce, Tritonia broke through the enemy defences and won the Battle of Helsinki, forcing Kalevala's government to relocate to Murmansk. Yetia began a limited offensive which was soon thwarted by enemy forces as Tritonia had moved its forces down here after the victories in Kalevala, allowing Kalevala to make limited offensives. Tritonia put its focus on liberating Vedaburg, which soon succeeded. Luvakhia soon agreed to a separate peace agreement with Kalevala, who still desperately tried to hold on. Kalevala saw that its attempts at urban combat kept failing, so it retreated deeper inland in order to pursue guerilla tactics in the rural parts of the country. As their attempts to take back territory kept failing, Kalevala reluctantly agreed to concede control over all territories south of the Daugava river to Tritonia, leading to Yetia making peace with the rest of Tritonia's coalition in return for gaining Bralien.
