As Mars and Humanity kept preparing for the Qu threat, a message was received from the Martian Outer Territories ~65 Lightyears away from Alpha Sol which reported that 'scout sightings' were becoming more and more common while sub-space scanners detected faint encrypted signals from massive ships ~150 Lightyears away, recommending that Mars and its protectorates build up for a defensive campaign effective enough to repel the attack as they believed that offensives would go nowhere, though they also noted that they couldn't be 100% certain of the situation and were still conducting research. Mars took this information after receiving it (and Polsk redirecting it to them despite them already having it) and kept arming itself while Polsk partially went against the advice and sent cloaked ships to the outer colonies to look for threats. Mars saw this as counterproductive, but Polsk claimed it had recovered the Terazene Crystal Miraak was inhabiting and planned on weaponising it on the Spear of Adun, which Mars saw as a fairly useful advancement at the face of a impending threat. Soon another message came in marked as an 'EMERGENCY', claiming that 'Qu' Scout Ships had crossed into Martian space and launched a series of attacks, necessitating immediate reinforcements which Mars and Polsk rushed to provide.
Polskan ships rushed to fight back against the Quhanim incursion while the Cybros fired where it could as Polsk entered a war economy. Freighters, Civilian Crafts, and outdated centuries-old war-ships were rushed into service as Martian scanners were taken down to the point that they weren't able to easily track where enemies were coming from. Polsk deployed 5 'Adun-Class Arc Ships', which when combined with the increasing number of defending ships managed to hold back the Qu while Martian scout-ships moved out to locate the Qu's bases. Polsk deployed its 'Golden Armada' to fight back against the enemy, while a garbled enemy message was intercepted and translated, which Mars and Polsk interpreted as an attack on Mars' "external communications" before another attack, prompting them to launch an offensive while the enemy was seemingly distracted. Qu ships circled the periphery of Martian space, allowing them to be pushed back once they moved through an area and ripped everything apart, destroying Mars' communications with the wider Galaxy. Another garbled enemy message was intercepted, though this one wasn't coherent enough to be interpreted beyond some kind of upcoming attack. Qu forces suddenly completely retreated while a garbled message suggested that they were moving 'southwest', prompting Polsk and Mars to send out various scouts, though they appeared not to be finding anything so they spread out in all directions until Mars eventually encountered a faint signal that the two moved to investigate. During this investigation, Martian and Theian Republic ships encountered a massive horde of much larger enemy ships which proclaimed in a somewhat less garbled message the word 'Violence'. Martian and Human ships quickly retreated back into their home territory as the enemy ships swarmed them, with even Polsk's Cybros station and Arc Ships having difficulties in defeating enemy vessels which caused Mars to panic. The Cybros managed to form a blackhole with its sheer force which destroyed many ships, though most Quhanim ships remained intact, prompting Mars to try to establish a defensive perimeter around ~10 Lightyears around Alpha Sol. Polsk moved to defend the uncolonized Skantos System with aid from the Protoss Empire which seemingly arrived to help them, while they failed to recruit aid from the Order of Ganymede. Polsk rushed in most of its fleet to defend Skantos from an approaching Qu fleet despite it being primitive, which Mars questioned the logic of, so Polsk explained that it was sacred for them. Major fighting occurred in the Skantos system with even some ground battles happening on uninhabited planets. Polsk put its focus into turning Skantos into an impenetrable fortress, only for thee Qu to reveal that the Battle above Skantos was all a trap, suddenly rushing towards Alpha Sol from all sides as Mars and Polsk's home fleets rushed to protect the system. The first major clashes were around Saturn while Cybros fired at enemy ships and the Order of Ganymede hid its forces underneath Jupiter's upper atmosphere, annoying Polsk while Mars remarked that it was probably a smart decision on their end as the two began setting up a mine field in the asteroid belt. Despite relentless fire from Mars and Polsk, the Qu simply kept advancing which prompted Mars to come to a realisation as it ordered that Humanity shut down all of its electrical power and disengage all ships before bombing powerplants throughout Yata and Theia as they believed that the Qu were after the Martians, not Humans, instructing them to lay low for a few years so that they may survive. Humanity complied with the demands as Mars began to fall to the enemy forces, leading to the 'Kingdom of Yata' becoming independent of Martian vassalhood. Polsk considered trying to replace Mars' position, but the TR pushed back against this and recommended that Humanity simply lay low for now as nothing could be done until the Qu left as all communication channels slowly died out, starting the 'Yatan-Theian Blackout'. Towards the end of 264 CE, all remnants of Martian civilization were wiped out.
